Your web browser automatically stores information about pages you visit to help them load faster the next time you visit. This storage is called the 'cache.' Old cached web pages can cause problems, however.
To clear your cache in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x
- On the upper right corner of your browser, click on 'Tools' then click on 'Internet Options'.
- Under the 'Browsing History' heading, click on the 'Delete…' button.
- Next to the heading 'Temporary Internet Files', click on the 'Delete files…' button.
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Click on the 'Yes' button to continue.
- Once this is completed, click on the 'Close' button. Then click on the 'OK' button to close the window.
To clear your cache in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.x
- On the upper right corner of your browser, click on 'Tools' then click on 'Internet Options'.
- Under the 'Browsing History' section of the General Tab, click on the 'Delete…' button.
- Check the box next to Temporary Internet files and uncheck the box next to Preserve Favorites website data
- Click on the Delete button near the bottom of the Delete Browsing History dialog box.
To clear your cache in Firefox 33.0+:
- Click the Tools menu and select "Options" from the list
- Click the "Privacy" icon
- Click the link marked "clear your recent history"
- Check the box marked "cache"
- Click the "Clear now" button
- Click "Ok"
- Close and re-open your browser, then try the process again.
To clear your cache in Google Chrome:
- Enter the following into the address bar of your browser window -
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
- For the drop down menu marked "Obliterate the following items from: " select "The beginning of time"
- Check the box marked "Cached images and files"
- Click the "Clear browsing data" button
- Close and re-open your browser, then try the process again.
To clear your cache in Safari:
- Click "Edit" at the top of the page, then select "Empty Cache" from the menu
- Close and re-open your browser, then try the process again.
